Booking Terms & Conditions
1. Scope
These terms and conditions are between you and The Crooked House, Lavenham and apply to bookings for all events and experiences at The Crooked House, Lavenham, or organised by The Crooked House, Lavenham.
2. Reservations
You agree that you will make reservations in good faith for legitimate use by you and your invited guests only and not for any other purpose, including but not limited to reselling, impermissibly assigning or posting on third-party websites, or making speculative, false or fraudulent reservations or any reservation in anticipation of demand.
Please note that for our Black Tie Dinners and The Crooked House Story, a maximum of six tickets may be booked by any one person. Should you wish to bring more friends to The Crooked House, please contact us to discuss private event options.
3. Cancellations
Black Tie Dinners: Cancellations made more than 30 calendar days prior to an event are subject to a full refund. Unfortunately no refunds are available for any cancellations within 30 calendar days of the event booked. If an event is cancelled, you will be offered a full refund for the price paid.
The Crooked House Story: Unfortunately tickets booked for The Crooked House Story are non-refundable and may not be exchanged or transferred. If a tour is cancelled, you will be offered a full refund for the price paid.
4. Waiting lists
Our Black Tie Dinners sell out fast, so we operate a waiting list for those wishing to be informed should tickets become available. Those who sign up to the waiting list are not guaranteed tickets and will only be contacted in the event that tickets become available. Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis from the waiting list and there is no obligation to take up the offer of tickets if you are contacted. Those offered tickets will have 24 hours to confirm whether or not they want them. If confirmed, we will send you an invoice and you will have 24 hours to pay, to secure your tickets. Any tickets made available to the waiting list will be sold at the full retail price for that specific event. If payment is not made within 24 hours, your request will be cancelled and we will release the tickets to the next guests on the waiting list.
5. Payments
Black Tie Dinners: Once a ticket is requested and all details are confirmed, we will send you an invoice. We will hold your places for 24 hours after sending the invoice. If payment has not been made within 24 hours, your request will be cancelled and we will release your tickets to be purchased by others.
The Crooked House Story: Tickets are available for purchase on our website only and are not available at the door. We accept payment by debit or credit card. The Crooked House is cash free; we regret we are unable to take cash payments.
6. Accessibility & Age restrictions
Due to the steep stairs up to and inside The Crooked House, unfortunately all our physical events and experiences are unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Due to the historic and fragile interiors of The Crooked House and the serving of alcohol at many of our events, please note that all our events and experiences are not suitable for children and tickets may only be purchased by and for people aged over 18 years.
7. Dietary requirements
All dietary requirements, including allergies and intolerances, must be disclosed before booking tickets. We will do our best to accommodate but please note that we cannot guarantee that food served is free from traces of allergens. Our events are prepared and cooked in our home by us, without a professional kitchen set up. As such, there may be instances where we decline ticket requests if we don’t feel that we can adequately and safely cater to your requirements.
8. Smoking, vaping and alcohol
Smoking and vaping is not permitted inside The Crooked House.
We serve alcohol at many of our events and hope our guests will enjoy responsibly. However, we reserve the right to not serve alcohol when appropriate and to remove anybody found acting drunk or disorderly. No refunds will be provided to anyone removed for such behaviour.
9. Recording and photography
The Crooked House is a magical space and also our private home. For this reason we have a strict no-photography or video policy once inside the house. So leave your phone behind and enjoy the experience! Anyone found taking photographs or videos will be removed from the event or house tour immediately, with no refund provided.
Occasionally, we employ an official photographer/videographer to attend our events and capture content for us to use on our official social media channels, website, newsletter, products and/or in media. By attending an event at The Crooked House, you give your permission for us to freely and unconditionally use such official photography/videography featuring you on our channels, products and in media, with full copyright and ownership given to The Crooked House, Lavenham.
